Can You Vacuum Artificial Grass?

by Dec 27, 2022Uncategorized

Although artificial grass is quite comparable to an outdoor carpet, it does contain a layer of infill. The infill serves a number of important functions for your turf, so you want to be careful not to suction it out of the grass. Using a leaf blower or powerbroom are generally the best tools for clearing off debris. If you have a short-pile putting surface, you can use any vacuum cleaner, but to be safe, dial down the suction power so it’s not on the highest setting (your putting green contains infill too).

A couple years ago we modified a carpet cleaning machine so that it only suctions up the debris on top without displacing the infill. It works great, but if you don’t want to spend $5K on a turf cleaning machine like we did, we offer an annual cleaning service (usually about $250-$500/visit). This machine washes and sanitizes your turf as well, which is especially recommended if you have young children playing on it or a dog peeing on the turf.
