Golf Simulator Flooring

Golf Sim Flooring is more than a hitting mat!

If you’re building a golf simulator in your garage, basement, or commercial facility, the flooring matters more than most people think. The right setup should feel soft underfoot, protect your joints/wrists when you hit, and hold up to thousands of swings—without looking like a temporary DIY mat on concrete.

A proper simulator floor isn’t just turf. It’s a layered system that includes:

  • Foam Underlay: serves multiple purposes. It gets the hitting mat sitting flush with the surrounding turf, dampens the noise and makes the turf softer. Don’t skip this step!

  • Turf surrounding: typically this will be the putting green turf that covers from wall to wall. It costs much less than the hitting mat material and instantly converts your sim into an indoor putting green! The foam underlay or subfloor allows us to install shallow 1″ cups so you work on your putting from home.

  • Hitting surface: EZtee with an optional layer of additional foam beneath it is the best way to go. Nice and soft, easy on the wrists and joints. This strip needs to be replaced every ~10,000 shots or so, you’ll know when the time comes.

  • Clean edges or Transition Strips: Now that the flooring system has been raised about 1″ off the ground, you’ll want some kind of transition pieces to bridge the height difference. The best look aesthetically is when we roll the turf over the edges and secure it to the side of the subfloor.

Flooring Options

Option 1: Turf Surround + Hitting Mat (budget-friendly)
Clean look, solid function.

Option 2: Turf + Shock Pad + Premium Hitting Surface (most popular)
Best feel, best longevity, easiest on joints.

Option 3: Full Custom Build (tour-level)
Same as option 2 with more focus on the putting green component. Custom slopes and option to add Puttview

We install golf simulator flooring across the lower mainland, including: Vancouver, Burnaby, Richmond, North Van, West Van, Coquitlam, Surrey, Delta, and Langley.
